Swansea City educating the next generation of players though No Boundaries workshops

We have been working with Swansea City Football Academy delivering workshops to foundation phase players. These players are training at the Fairwood training ground in Swansea. In the workshops, we looked at racism and the impact of racism in football and in society, understanding what language is appropriate and inappropriate to use. 

The young people also then explored solutions towards how we can tackle racism and we shared some statistics around racist incidents involving football across Wales. This included racism in grassroots football across Wales and the punishments that are given out if players behave inappropriately due to racism.

We also discussed the impacts of racism on future careers as footballers and what players should do if they experience racism within football. Further, we shared videos of well-known footballers talking about their own experience of football within the Premier League.
